Mr Najm us Saqib, High Commissioner of Pakistan in South Africa has launched his book 'BAOO' in Pretoria. On his first Urdu novel "Yahan se Aagey", published in 2011, the prestigious Bolan Academy of Pakistan, conferred upon him "the Excellence in Literature Award", in the same year. 'BAOO' is based on this award winning novel, whose second edition was marketed by the publisher in 2013. Considering the appreciation received, the author has translated his Urdu novel, with few adjustments, for the English novel readership.

The book launch was hosted by Mr. Nasir Khan, the President of Pakistan-South Africa Association, Pretoria.

In her review at the launch Delene Adams said, “Baoo” is about Pakistan and the people of Pakistan. Through his skill of story writing, the author takes us with him to different neighbourhoods, friends, cultures and hitherto undiscovered psychological, social and emotional landscapes. His powerful diction, skilfully displayed in “Baoo”, would leave you wondering about life, your life, my life and the lives of our children in this dot.com and fast paced era of a multi-dimensional milieu. As most of the speakers in today’s launching ceremony have said, you would also like to finish reading Baoo in your first sitting. With this work, the author has accentuated the evolution of the friendship between Pakistan and South Africa in a very subtle but effective way."
