The term “K-Pop” is an abbreviation for “Korean Pop”, and K-Pop idol group BTS has recently earned First No.1 album on Billboard 200 chart. There are also a growing number of K-Pop fans in South Africa as well.

This year, 30 teams from all over South Africa participated. Grand Prizes for vocal and cover dance were given to Group Persis (song: Hold my hand by Lee Hi) consisted of three ladies and a Solo male dancer Lindsay (song: Danger by Taemin), respectively. They were chosen as South African (Regional Round) winners and have a chance of being invited to join the Final Round contest together with the winners of the other regional rounds in Korea, which will be broadcast by the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) in October.
