Asian Heads of Mission in Pretoria condemn terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka

The Asian Heads of the Missions in Pretoria, South Africa met with Sri Lankan High Commissioner, H.E. Kumar Mallimaratchi and extended their condemnation of the brutal terrorist attacks that killed over 300 and injured 500 people in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.

They extended their Government’s heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Government and people of Sri Lanka, particularly to the bereaved families of the victims.

Dean of the Asian Group, Ambassador to Kazakhstan in Pretoria H.E. Talgat Kaliyev and 17 Ambassadors/High Commissioners of Asia from Singapore, Philippines, Bangladesh, Iran, Vietnam, New Zealand, Turkey, Republic of Korea, Myanmar, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, China, Japan, Nepal, Thailand and Australia attended.

Further, following the National Day of Mourning, the High Commission opened a Condolence book and a large number of Diplomats and friends of Sri Lanka visited the Chancery in Pretoria to express their condolences.
