Reinventing the Future in Pakistan – Delivering Investors’ Paradise

Pakistan is the most happening place in the world today and makes for a very exciting investment destination was the consensus opinion that emerged at the conclusion of a massive exercise that brought together 1000 delegates from 21 countries including of course many from Pakistan.

Karachi, the commercial capital of Pakistan, hosted the two-day Summit of thought leaders from around the world, and discussed threadbare what the future might hold for the global village and Pakistan in particular.

THE FUTURE SUMMIT, organized by Nutshell Conferences in collaboration with Martin Dow pharmaceuticals and a consortium of corporate sponsors, is into its 3rd edition, and stands as the voice of an optimistic future, an energetic catalyst for change.

THE FUTURE SUMMIT brings together a dynamic mix of individuals comprising vibrant strategists and business thinkers, futurists, innovators, government ministers and distinguished academicians. The Summit allows leading business figures from around the world to present their ideas and effective business strategies in a discussion to address leadership and business concerns crucial to the world’s decision makers charged with the growth and prosperity of nations.

A high-powered set of Pakistani speakers opened the first day of the Summit and defined the Pakistani landscape full of challenges and opportunities for those enterprising enough to venture forth in these exciting, uncharted waters.

Amongst them were H. E. Imran Ismail, Governor Sindh; Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Science & Technology; and Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, Commissioner of Karachi who represented the government, while the private sector showed the flag through Ikram Sehgal, Chairman, Karachi Electric & Director, East-West Institute, USA; Shazad Dada, Vice President, Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Ghiasuddin Khan, President, Engro Corporation, with Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, Founding CEO, Nutshell Forum & Founder, CORPORATE PAKISTAN GROUP and Co-host Ali Akhai, Chairman, Martin Dow Group welcoming the participants at the beginning of the proceedings.

Mbenkum, Founder & CEO, Interstellar Inc., Canada & Adviser, Central Bank of Nigeria on Digital Transformation – The Next Phase; Doug Corley, Co-founder & CEO, DHB Global on the topic The Future of Healthcare; Robert van der Klauw, Head of Finance, Middle East & Africa, Munich Re on Health Innovation; Saad M. The Dialogue that followed on Preparing for the Centennial Generation – The Future of Work had the leading lights of Pakistani employers offering their thoughts, and included Khalid Mansoor, CEO, HUBCO; Mohammad Shoaib, CEO, Al Meezan Investment Management Limited; Sajjad Syed, CEO, Excellence Delivered (Pvt.) Day Two of the Summit saw Henry Wang, Founder, SmartMesh & International Blockchain Application Federation (IBAF) speak on Inclusive Connectivity; Leonid Kozlov, CEO & Co-founder, weDAO, Russia on AI & Future of Industries; Nixon Chung, Founder & Managing Director, Camloy International Limited on Tourism Plus; Darren Vogel, Co-founder, ROXI & Gannet Aviation, UK on Future Trends; Berny Dohrmann, Chairman & CEO, Space International, USA on Personal Innovation; Etsko Schuitema, Group CEO & Founder, Schuitema Group, South Africa on Leadership Excellence and Sameer Chishti, General Partner, SparkLabs Venture Capital & Chairman, Streeton Partners, China on the Chinese experience. From the government’s side Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for IT & Telecom presented the Pakistani landscape.
