AFRICA DAY CELEBRATIONS

STATEMENT OF THE BUREAU OF THE AFRICAN DIPLOMATIC CORPS

The Group of African Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to the Republic of South Africa will be holding Africa Day celebrations on Saturday, 27th May, 2023 at Festival Mall, Kempton Park. The annual commemoration of Africa Day marks the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU now African Union (AU) in 1963.

The event will bring together all African Diplomatic Missions, other Embassies and High Commissions in Pretoria as well as their Diasporas. It promises to be an exciting event to celebrate African diversity and success as well as to connect and highlight the cultural and economic opportunities in various regions of the continent.

This is therefore to extend an invitation to the entire diplomatic community in South Africa, the South African Public and Diaspora to grace this important occasion for the continent, with their presence.
