New Development Bank highly appreciates Egypt's public procurement system

The country's government plans to attract more investment

Egypt's public procurement laws have been highly praised in a recent report by the New Development Bank (NDB). This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS, quoting the country's Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk.

He said that the report noted that the public procurement law was in line with international best practices. This confirms its suitability for NDB-funded projects. According to the minister, modernising legislation is a key step towards strengthening relations with the private sector.

Kouchouk also emphasised the importance of discussing the report's recommendations during a two-day seminar held in Cairo. It was attended by business leaders, government stakeholders, representatives of the NBR and the country's General Services Authority (GSA).

A year earlier, the NBR forum in Cairo discussed the importance of Egypt as a global logistics hub. The country is strengthening its position thanks to its strategic location and infrastructure projects.
