2018 Changwon K-Pop World Festival regional round

 
 
 
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in South Africa hosted the 2018 Changwon K-Pop World Festival regional round in South Africa on Saturday, 26 May at the Atterbury Theatre in Lynnwood. This was the second year of hosting the event and it will be held annually.

The term “K-Pop” is an abbreviation for “Korean Pop”, and K-Pop idol group BTS has recently earned First No.1 album on Billboard 200 chart. There are also a growing number of K-Pop fans in South Africa as well.
 
 
 

 

 
 
 

 

A Swedish - South African collaboration

 
 
 
 
Not A Single Story exhibition is a cross-continental collaboration between Wanås Konst, a sculpture park in Sweden, and the NIROX Foundation. The exhibition showcases the works of 26 female artists around the world.
Ambassador of Sweden Ms. Cecilia Julin hosted a reception at the exhibition on 26 May 2018.
Curators Elisabeth Millqvist & Mattias Givell of Wanås Konst were in attendance to lead a tour of the exhibition, sharing their insights into this ambitious cooperation.
Hear My Voice poets performed selections of poetry interwoven with jazz.
The exhibition is open until 29 July 2018 at NIROX.T will run till 25 May.
