Mandela Day in Peru

Ambassador Elsa Dry handing over stationary packs to the organiser of the centre Mr Mario Neyra
As part of the South African Embassy in Peru’s Mandela Day contribution and the ideals of Mr Mandela to contribute to social projects the Embassy staff and their families were joined on 13 July 2013 by other South Africans and their families living in Peru to paint a church run after school centre in the district of Chorrillos, Lima. Due to generous donations by two South Africans, namely Hector Paredes of Worley Parsons TWP and Pieter de Meyer much needed renovations were also done to three classrooms while various other individual donations made it possible to purchase stationary packs for the 55 children attending the after school facility.
