Mexico Embassy in SA marks Mandela Day{besps}stories/madibamexico|width=350|height=300|align=4{/besps}

To mark the International Day of Nelson Mandela, the Mexican community and the staff of the Embassy of Mexico in South Africa visited the "Pennies Nursery School" in Pretoria.

The school, located near the hospital where Mr. Nelson Mandela was admitted on June 8th, provides care for 98 children between 0 and 6 years of age from low-income households with high vulnerability on a daily basis.

During the visit organized by the Embassy, the toddlers enjoyed a cultural presentation about Mexico, which included history, food, music and a “piñata” to celebrate the 95th birthday of Madiba, as he is affectionately known in South Africa. In addition to the presentation, a donation of books, school supplies, clothing and toys were presented to the children.
